N.B.A.A. is the house shear line of Genuine Inc. (株式会社ジェニュイン), a Tokyo beauty and barber supplier incorporated in 1998 and based in Chuo-ku. That parentage is the useful context. A supply company that already sells to salons every day has a clear read on what working stylists wear out and what they want next, and the N.B.A.A. range is designed from that vantage point rather than from a pure manufacturing one.

What the range covers

It’s a focused, practical catalog rather than a sprawling one. The cutting models run from roughly 5.7 to 6.5 inches and come in both semi-offset and straight-handle layouts, so you can match the handle to how you hold the shear rather than adapting to a single house style. The thinning side spans both long and short blades, and some pairs carry a black titanium finish, which is as much about scratch resistance and look as anything else.

On steel, Genuine keeps it general. Most of the line is described simply as high-performance special steel, with one model, the Cutting Cobalt A6.5, listed specifically in cobalt for harder, longer-holding edges. There’s no published JIS grade across the board, so treat the steel claims as the maker frames them. Pricing sits in the mid-range, roughly $200 to $400, which is normal territory for a Japanese-brand professional shear.
