The name tells you something. Togiya is the Japanese word for a sharpener, and the brand grew out of exactly that world. Founder Tatsuya Miyata learned scissor making from his father, then went into the steel materials trade, where he kept hearing the same complaint: stylists weren’t happy with the shears they could buy.
