Review & Ratings Methodology

How we evaluate professional hair scissor brands and models.

Scoring Pillars

Each brand or model review references a consistent framework. We do not publish numeric star ratings; instead we score each pillar qualitatively and explain the evidence.

  • Materials & Manufacturing: Steel grade, hardening method, ride line quality, and disclosed origin.
  • Edge Performance: Edge profile suitability for blunt, point, slide, and texturizing techniques.
  • Ergonomics & Balance: Handle geometry, weight distribution, tension systems, and RSI mitigation.
  • Service & Warranty: Factory sharpening programs, spare parts availability, and warranty clarity.
  • Value & Availability: Price band by region, authorized distributor network, and resale considerations.

Evidence Requirements

  1. Primary sources: Manufacturer catalogs, technical sheets, and verified distributor data.
  2. Independent validation: Trade publications, industry educators, or laboratory testing when available.
  3. Professional feedback: Attributed salon/barber testimonials with context (technique, tenure, region).
  4. User aggregation: Only considered when sample sizes exceed 20 unique reviews and legal screening passes.

Updates & Versioning

We revisit top-performing pages quarterly. Each review lists its last updated date and includes a changelog when specifications, pricing, or availability shift.

Conflict of Interest Policy

ScissorBrands.com does not accept paid placements, sponsored reviews, or gifted products without disclosure. If a sample is provided for testing, the page states who supplied it and under what terms.

How to Request a Review

Brands and distributors can email scissorhubaus@gmail.com with catalog updates or review requests. Include technical sheets, pricing, and service information so we can evaluate the opportunity.
