Misaki describes a barber and stylist supply business with more than 40 years in the trade. That operator history does not date the Misaki shear line or establish the factory for each pair.
Compare two Yoshihiro choices
The M-304 Yoshihiro is listed as a VG10 stainless-steel cutter with an offset handle and adjustable pivot. The M-304L is its left-hand counterpart. The M-304 page’s size selector and description do not fully agree, so confirm the selected SKU and length at checkout. Neither page proves VG10 across the whole catalogue.
Misaki also lists thinners and razors. Compare a named thinner’s teeth and blade orientation before borrowing a cutter’s specifications. Japanese steel on a model page describes material; it does not prove the finished shear was made in Japan. Ask for origin marking, service terms and returns for the chosen pair.
Misaki FAQ
What steel is Yoshihiro?
The M-304 lists Japanese VG10 stainless steel; this is model-specific.
Is there a left-hand version?
Yes. The M-304L is listed as a left-hand cutter.
Are all Misaki shears US-made?
The company account describes a US seller, not the manufacturing country of every pair.
