eBlade is a UK brand from Surbiton, founded in 2017, that built its identity around a single idea: how you hold the scissor matters as much as the blade. The company says the line took seven years to develop, and that long gestation went into ergonomics rather than chasing exotic steel for its own sake. The range covers cutting and thinning shears, left-handed models, trimmers, and accessories.

Built around grip

Most shear brands assume you’ll use the classic grip and design from there. eBlade instead designs for three holds: Classic, Eastern, and Inverted. The inverted grip is the centrepiece of its pitch, with the brand arguing it opens up cutting angles and gives more creative freedom mid-cut. To support those positions, the scissors carry a stabilising bar that the brand says improves the hand-to-tool connection for balance and control.

I’d be straight about this: eBlade rewards a particular stylist. If you’re trained exclusively in the standard grip and happy there, expect a learning curve before the premium price justifies itself.
