Royale is a grooming-and-barbering shear line that most North American stylists will meet on a retailer’s shelf rather than through a brand campaign. It is South Korean in origin, hand-forged in Korea, and sits in the mid-range tier alongside other professional names in curated specialty catalogues.

Steel and build

The published spec is super-cobalted Japanese V-10 stainless, which is the high-cobalt grade you want for edge life on a long blade. The construction is well thought out for the work it targets: a convex edge over hollow-ground blades, an offset handle, and a click-dial tension system so a barber can dial the feel mid-shift without hunting for a key. A lifetime warranty against faults in material and workmanship backs it.

Built long, for body work

This is where Royale shows its hand. The core models come straight or curved, each offered in 7.0, 8.0 and 9.0 inch lengths, plus a 40-tooth thinner. That sizing is deliberate; longer blades are what you reach for on body and finishing cuts and scissor-over-comb, less so for fine point work near the face. If you cut a lot of fades and longer men’s work, the geometry makes sense. Pricing runs roughly $200 to $400 depending on model and length.
